Linux outdated ?
Possibly not, but I'm puzzled if they are encouraging Windows users to move to Linux.
Why to access a number of options that you have to Type in...like the old DOS days.

Good question.
I left Linux earlier precisely for this reason, plus they had not developed substitute programs for image, sound and word processing that were equivalent to what existed for Windows.

The meaning of open source is not that we users should have to enter commands for everything we have to do - the commands should and must be entered by the developers..?

This is probably fine for those who know the command lines, but not for everyone else.

The graphical interface must be completely finished, and all DOS commands must be visualized.

Otherwise, Linux will only be interesting to the few who know programming.

What impresses me is the way you monitor this forum, you are fast at acknowledging input posts, the poster then knows that you have seen & read the posting and then later you follow on with a possible reply.
No other forum is run like this.
That's what is known as good housekeeping.

I am very pleased that you are impressed by my administrative qualities, you who are everywhere, and have more experience than most.



I try to acknowledge all input, but know that I can improve.
Other forums are full of a lack of follow-up on comments, which I don't like.

This may have something to do with the fact that I have held leading positions in working life, and in organizational life in particular - I have experienced what the consequences can be of a lack of follow-up.

Your wife is very attentive, because you and I think alike - we have a rare similar chemistry.

PS... You (and your wife) must stay in this life as long as possible, but I look forward to meeting you and your wife in the next life..!
